Grandma Flossy's Drop Sugar Cookies
Even without icing, these soft sugar cookies are delicious. Give them a festive look with a swipe of icing and a few sprinkle to catch the eyes of those you serve.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp lemon zest
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 Tbsp milk
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp soda
Instructions
- Blend together butter, salt, lemon zest, and nutmeg. Cream in sugar, add eggs and beat well. Stir in milk. Stir together dry ingredients and stir into creamed mixture.
- Drop rounded teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10minutes.
Notes
If you don't have any lemon zest, consider using 1/4 tsp lemon extract or 1/2 tsp lemon juice.
