My daughter said it so well on a Facebook post. This season of life is full of celebration and sorrow, reunions and farewells.
Our family is gearing up for the exciting day when she is commissioned as an Army captain and graduates from Optometry School – all on the same day. Yet the emails and phone calls have been frequent and long as the family touches base about our Uncle Eldon, each sharing the special bond each of us has with him and reporting the latest about his status.
Some moments it’s hard to concentrate on daily life. Yet life goes merrily along in spite of what is on our calendars or in our hearts.
“Give us this day our daily bread,” that line from Jesus’ prayer, takes on new depths of meaning for me in times like these. Yes, I don’t need to even worry about my next meal because He will provide. Jeuss used the phrase “daily bread” as a catch-all phrase for daily needs. He can and will provide for me physically, emotionally and spiritually, giving me the strength to continue on with the daily demands of life even though my heart wonders and at times, worries about the future.
My goal is to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness. If I do that, He’ll get me through the rest. My job is to focus on today, making the most of today, to celebrate and find gratitude in all that my Lord has given me this day, to pour my heart, soul, strength and love into the tasks and people that surround me through the next twenty-four hours.
And He’ll take care of the rest. He’s promised. And my God always keeps His promises.
So here I go. Forward on to a day of writing and prepping for my Ladies’ Bible Study. How is your day looking?

What a good reminder to focus on the day with both it’s joys and sorrows. There are days when I focus too much on health problems. And there are days when I focus on writing for God. Those days are by far better ones.

I’m so glad it blessed you, Pam. It’s sometimes hard to concentrate on just the tasks of the day but by God’s strength, we can do it!
